Our Summer Edition Has Arrived!

Dear Lincoln Kids Readers,

I’m writing to you on the Thursday evening before this edition will be sent to the printer. As we have been editing this week, I felt such a sense of pride over what my team has created for our community of readers.

In this edition, you’ll learn about art murals in the University Place Neighborhood, how Sylvan is supporting parents and teachers, the welcoming new church service for families at Christ United Methodist Church, and the exciting BMX program for kids and adults in our city.

As I watch my own kids try new activities each year, I am thankful that Lincoln has so much to offer. My daughter, Ellie, tried debate for the first time her sophomore year and it’s been her favorite high school activity to date. Did you know that there are even debate camps right here in Nebraska? You can learn more about those on page 30.

With summer right around the corner, we mapped out (literally) all of the awesome public swimming pools in Lincoln. And, while I’m on the topic of city pools, I hope you read our tribute to Lynn Johnson, our dedicated Parks Director who will be retiring in June.

Thank you all for supporting our team at Lincoln Kids and for sharing your stories with us.

With gratitude,

Christine Weeks, Owner / Publisher
