Birdseed Ornaments
What you need:
2 C. birdseed
2 packets unflavored gelatin
3 Tbsp. corn syrup
½ C. water
6 cookie cutters
3 drinking straws
Twine
Instructions:
Make gelatin in a large bowl.
Once the gelatin has dissolved, add corn syrup and stir until it, too, has dissolved.
Add in your birdseed and place the bowl in the fridge for about ten minutes.
Set your cookie cutters out on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
Spoon the mixture into the cookie cutters, making sure to press it down to get into every nook and cranny. Fill to the top.
Cut your drinking straws in half and poke them through the top of your ‘cookie’ to create a hole.
Place the pan in the refrigerator overnight to allow the ornaments to harden.
In the morning, carefully remove them from the cookie cutter, thread a loop of twine through the hole, and tie a knot.
Hang your ornaments outside and watch the birds flock to your creation!
